WATER ANALYSIS INCLUDING ARSENIC
Water treatment is an essential and extremely important process in Nuclear Reactor operations. Treatment is also required in Cooling tower, boiler feed water, textile and even potable water.
The water treatment specialist must know the water analysis before he can design and prescribe the treatment and chemicals to use and estimate the Resin volume in mixed bed or Cation-Anion de minerlizer train. This information is also required in determining the boiler water or Cooling tower basin blow down. This in turn is determined by the cycles of concentration to be maintained.
Whether the water is corrosive or scale forming, and treat the water accordingly to minimize scale deposits in exchangers.
Arsenic in water is routinely done by AAS ( Atomic absorption spectrophotometer ), for As determination in hair or fingernails NAA (neutron activation analysis ) is the better method. Please see NAA in the Services offered page for details.
